Biography

Luke Butterly is the Founder and Creative Director
of LB Photography based in Sydney.

Having discovered his passion for photography, Luke trained at the nationally accredited and renowned Photographic College at the Sydney Institute of Technology, where he graduated with Distinction in 2002.

After gaining invaluable experience in the field as a professional assistant and in order to pursue his passion, Luke felt that the next step in his artistic and professional career required him to start his own studio. LB Photography was born, and through it Luke continues to practice and develop his philosophy of client-oriented photography.

Photography is a partnership between the photographer and the subject. Without such a relationship the true feeling and emotion of the situation simply cannot be captured.”

Although best known for known for his work as a Sydney Wedding and Portrait Photographer, Luke’s passion for photography has lead to his ever growing travelogue, capturing people and their environment. Recent projects have included field trips to Morocco, London and Tasmania. This candid portrayal of everyday life finds its way into Luke’s formal work, creating images which have earned him many accolades and recognition.
